Your donation makes a tremendous difference!
Contributions to our Stevenson House Fund help us identify and solve problems our seniors face before they become debilitating. With the many challenges our seniors experience, solutions are often beyond their means. Your donation enables us to continue solving the many very real but treatable problems of our elders.
Stevenson House believes that every senior citizen deserves a safe place to call home. Your donation helps us provide the infrastructure and services necessary to keep pace with the needs of our aging residents and extend independent living as long as possible. There are very few affordable housing solutions for seniors in Palo Alto. Preserving Stevenson House as a community resource provides a vital safety net for current and future residents. Here are examples of where your donation is put to work:
- Social service worker
- Extended exercise program
- Weekend meals
- Health support for items such as hearing aids, eyeglasses, walkers
- Residential services to help them through the 2 year renovation!

Health Support – Your Donations Make A Difference
Recently a kind-hearted senior resident became increasingly embarrassed at having to keep asking people to repeat themselves. He chose to avoid conversations and ceased to participate in recreational and educational activities. As his self-isolation increased, his feeling of self-worth plummeted.
Because of the past generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide him with hearing aids. He Is now back to his bird watching with friends and commented to me the other day, “Tom, I even heard the birds sing!!!”
Because of the many caring members of our extended family, we have been able to enhance the quality of life of many of our elderly residents by providing the resources and support they desperately need. Hearing loss, vision difficulties, dental problems are just a few of the many challenges our elders encounter as they age. At the same time, these challenges represent opportunities to reach out to our elders in a helpful, sensitive manner that demonstrates to them that someone truly cares about their well-being. Please be as generous as your situation allows.
