Castilleja Students Brighten-Up Stevenson House
On Friday, January 10th, 2014, approximately 60 Castilleja 8th graders visited Stevenson House to complete a project that has thrilled a large number of our senior residents. They came to deliver a gift to each of our seniors whom they had interviewed in December. This gift was a folder with a letter of appreciation from each of the students to the Stevenson House resident they had interviewed. Since several students interviewed each of the participating residents, these residents received several of these thoughtful, well-written letters. These folders also included art work of the students depicting scenes derived from the conversation with our seniors. Our seniors were thrilled and bubbling over with gratitude. Here are some of the students’ comments in their letters to residents:
“I gained a lot of perspective from your point of view and actually felt as if I was there at moments. You were very fun to be around and talk to. Thank you once again for sharing such precious stories and experiences that will stick with me forever.”
“I was inspired when you told us that when we grow up, we should find out what we want to be, not what we want to do, and I think I’ll carry that advice with me through my life”.
