Dan Barritt is an IRS-certified volunteer Tax Preparer (VITA) for low-income people, including many seniors. He has helped prepare over 500 tax returns and volunteered 1,678 hours since 2019. At Google, Dan was a Senior User Experience Researcher where he studied customers and made recommendations for improving the usability and usefulness of products. At Microsoft, he led teams of UX Researchers.
Dan is a board member at Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation and The School Fund. He was a board member at Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2), a nonprofit that helps people learn about effective philanthropy. While on the board of The Saul and Dayee Haas Foundation he helped convert the foundation into a public charity; as president of the board he helped implement a new strategic plan.
Dan has Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University.
