Programs and Services

For Stevenson House Residents

Sh_06_6198Stevenson House provides housing for independent low-income seniors. We provide some events and classes to contribute to the seniors’ continued independence.

That includes a monthly birthday celebration; access to garden beds; exercise and dance classes; music and singing gatherings; and occasional celebrations hosted by Palo Alto Rotary and other community organizations.

Weekday Donation-paid Lunches Open to the Public

La Comida lunch program is currently housed at Stevenson House as it looks for a permanent kitchen location. Some special dietary needs can be accommodated. A $3 contribution is asked from each person to help offset the cost of the meal. No eligible older adult (age 60 and over) will be denied participation because of failure or inability to contribute. Residents are also able to participate in the Brown Bag Program from Second Harvest Food Bank. Stevenson House hosts a farmer’s market the second Thursday of the month.

Transportation

A free shuttle to Downtown Palo Alto and the Stanford Shopping Center is provided by the City of Palo Alto. “Outreach” is a transportation option for mobility limited seniors in Santa Clara County. Our staff will assist residents in applying for this service.

Translation Services

Translators very occasionally are available for Russian, Chinese and Spanish speakers. We need more help. Can you volunteer translation services?
