For the past several years, Stevenson House has been fortunate to be a valuable site for De Anza College nursing students to gain experience addressing the needs of older adults. These wonderful students have checked blood pressure, answered health-related questions, performed safety checks of residents’ apartments, participated in exercise programs and have given classes on topics appropriate to seniors. Our seniors love these visits. Now that school is back in session, we are preparing for new visits and new students in both October and December. This is a wonderful example of our community’s generous participation at Stevenson House, and of our residents being a valuable resource for our future community leaders.
