Carol is a journalist, communications specialist, and author of books about ecological water management. She started out her career reporting on education and planning issues for newspapers around Boston, editing a magazine, then developing communications for nonprofit clients of an advertising agency. More recently, she creates marketing communications for environmental engineering, architecture, and planning firms. In 1998, she co-founded Ecovita, an innovative water fixtures import firm, to introduce to North America the water-conserving fixtures featured in her books.
She serves on the Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter’s water committee, as well as various San Mateo County environmental and bicycling advocacy organizations. She is affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto (UUCPA) next door to Stevenson House.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Syracuse University.
